ABOUT
Kat J. Weiss is a freelance illustrator & designer born & raised in Hong Kong, now based in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
With a focus on people, plants, and food, she specialises in editorial, book, brochure, poster, packaging and pattern illustration. She works in an analogue to digital process, starting each illustration with an ink drawing, as it is both unpredictable and precise. Her style is decorative and flat, with playful and surreal compositions, and a strong focus on line art details. Sustainability, diversity, and depicting people in a stylised, “true to life“ form are central to her work.
Education: Savannah College of Art and Design, BFA in Illustration and minor in Graphic Design (2014)
Member of PULPXIX e.V. art community (Trier) since 2022.
Member of the Illustratoren Organisation e.V. since 2020.
